Bill has been involved in the breeding, selection, ownership, and racing of Standardbreds.

Those experiences have shown him what makes racehorse ownership rewarding – and what can make it feel expensive, complicated, frustrating or inaccessible to someone new to the sport.

Donnelly Standardbreds exists to change that.

Bill’s personal goal is to create new owners for the sport by providing opportunities to experience racehorse ownership at a lower cost and with less individual financial risk than the traditional approach of purchasing and supporting an entire horse.

For selected horses, fractional ownership interests may begin at as little as 1%. Owners can participate at a level that fits their interests and circumstances while sharing expenses and risks with an ownership group.

Although fractional ownership can reduce each participant’s individual financial exposure, all racehorse ownership involves risk. There is no guarantee that a horse will race successfully, earn purse money, or produce a financial return. Our goal is to make the opportunity more accessible – not to minimize the realities of ownership.
