Our Services

We evaluate potential horses with attention to pedigree and maternal family, conformation, racing or training history, age and eligibility, physical condition, temperament, purchase price, expected expenses, and fit with the trainer and ownership group.

Owners should not have to chase information about their horse. Depending on the ownership group, we may help coordinate ownership agreements, racing registration information, expense reporting, purse and proceeds reporting, trainer communication, and regular updates.

No previous harness-racing experience is required. We help new owners understand racing terms, licensing, training and racing schedules, race conditions, entries, purse earnings, trainer relationships, and the everyday realities of Standardbred ownership.

Regular training and health updates, photos and videos, race-entry and result notifications, and stable visits by arrangement help owners stay connected with their horse throughout the journey. Owners may also have opportunities to attend races with fellow owners, access the paddock when available and permitted, celebrate in the winner’s circle following a victory, and take part in social events and shared ownership experiences. While there are no guaranteed wins in horse racing, celebrating a victory alongside your horse, trainer, driver and fellow owners can create a memory that lasts a lifetime.

When opportunities are available, Donnelly Standardbreds may also offer or participate in broodmare, breeding, and young-horse partnerships. These opportunities will be evaluated with attention to pedigree, maternal family, stallion selection, commercial considerations, and the long-term welfare of the mare and foal.
